Rare Roman Numeral Date MCMXC (1990) Liberty 1/10th Ounce Gold Coin set into 14k Sculptured Pendant

From 1986 until 1991, the United States American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins were minted with Roman Numeral Dates instead of the traditional Arabic Numerals. We think this added a very special dimension and beauty to these coins. The Walking Lady Liberty image itself is a work of art, but the roman numerals add a hint of mystery to these coins. These high relief gold bullion coins, with a purity of 91.67% pure gold, are not only a great investment, they are works of art.
In Roman Numerals, the date 1990 is represented by the characters MCMXC and is the shortest, simplest roman date in the series (only 5 characters). Curiously, you'll find many of your friends will be unable to determine the date (but that is another story entirely). More importantly is was minted in unusually small numbers, only 210,210 were minted in 1990. Compare that to the 1,344,520 minted in 1998. The 1990 coin is both unusual and rare.
