Tritium Benefits

Watches that Really Do Glow in the Dark
Making watches visible in low light or at night has been a perplexing problem since wrist timepieces were first invented. While watchmakers thought the problem was solved 100 years ago with the use of radium, it quickly proved too radioactive and dangerous. Radium was outlawed for use in watches over 50 years ago.
Luminous substitutes found in 95% of watches sold today require the use of an external light source to recharge the illumination. Many owners complain that the luminous paint works poorly and fades quickly, often in just minutes of darkness.
Another alternative, using electric back lighting requires the owner to press a button and quickly uses up battery power. It often fails to light the dial evenly and has proven unreliable.
Finally, today we have a new technology that provides bright, even light and will glow for 10 years or more: TRITIUM GAS VIALS inserted on the hands and dial of the watch. Different companies have given these glowing tubes different names. Traser calls them "Trigalight" and Protek uses the name "ProGlo," but they are all the same lighting solution. Tritium Rubes are guaranteed by the manufacturer, mb-microtec of Switzerland, to glow for at least ten years.
The new generation of Tritium Watches are the easiest in the world to read in low light conditions and even in total darkness. The light emitting devices require no battery power or any other form of charging, and never needs servicing or maintenance.
Tritium gas is captured in tiny, airtight vials, sealed under high pressure, are resistant to water, oil and the most corrosive materials. A very safe and very minute quantity of tritium lights up the dye. This same technology is available in many firearms for use in gun sights. Most hunters and marksmen are already familiar with this great technology.
If it's important for you to tell the time quickly and easily in low light or total darkness, then a Tritium Watch is exactly what you need. In total darkness, Tritium watches can glow up to 100 times more brightly than ordinary photo-luminescent watches. And they require no external light source to recharge the illumination.
There are now two different power strength of Tritium Tubes: the traditional strength, called T25 and the newer strength called T100. As you would expect the T100 tubes glow up to 4 times brighter and last several years longer than T25 tubes. T100 tubes are, by definition, more radioactive than T25 tubes, but they do not poise any danger to the consumer. And all Tritium Illuminated Watches sold in the United States are carefully inspected by the US GOVERNMENT for safety and security.
Because of the increasing popularity of Tritium illumination, several brands now offer this feature. Time4Tritium.com is very proud to offer Armourlite and IsoBright Watches, Traser Watches, Protek Watches, USMC Watches, Vostok-Europe Watches, Charles-Hubert Paris Tritium Watches and more to our clientele on the Internet. All these brands are equipped with a tritium gas tubes to illuminate the dial. To see our complete catalog, just click this link to The Time-4-Tritium Catalog
